Five plenaries will be woven around the sub-themes – Palliative care, end-of-life care and euthanasia – of the conference. However, parallel sessions for oral presentation of papers, poster presentations, workshops, and symposia will be open to subjects from within the broader discipline of bioethics, including the conference sub-themes.Each symposium / workshop can be organised as a 90-minute session or a 180-minute session. A 90-minute session should consist of up to four presentations, though three is preferred to allow ample time for discussion. A 180-minute session should consist of six to eight presentations with a half hour break in between.  The Scientific Committee will evaluate proposals based on the following criteria:o          Relevance to the conference theme and perceived interest in the topic;o          An appropriate organising committee; well-defined and focused objectives;o          Scientific, technical and philosophical excellence; ando          Potential impact and added-value for attendees.Proposals should be two to five pages and should contain the following information:1.     A title for the symposium / workshop2.     An abstract (200 words maximum).3.     Identification of the organiser/chair including name, institutional affiliation, e-mail address, phone number and postal address. Please indicate a primary contact if there is more than one organiser/chair.4.      A list of presentation titles, the proposed speakers (please include their institutional titles and affiliations) and discussants (if any).5.      Format of the symposium / workshop Please submit your symposium proposals and inquiries concerning symposia to nbc6pune@gmail.com. Proposals should be submitted as soon as possible, but no later than 15th September 2016.Notifications of acceptance or rejection will be sent to the primary contact. If the proposal is accepted, a final symposium abstract must be submitted with complete abstracts for each presentation.NOTE: Acceptance of a symposium proposal does not indicate that the 6th NBC will provide funding for organisers, chairs or speakers’ travel or registration. Funding will be the responsibility of the organisers, chairs or speakers. All symposium participants will have to personally register for the Conference. ER -
